The Entrepreneurs Network and Barclays are hosting a panel discussion during Conservative Party Conference (held outside the secure zone). At this event you will:

  • Hear from some of Manchester’s most inspirational female founders on their experiences starting and growing a business;

  • Consider how our education system can be reformed to ensure female entrepreneurs flourish;

  • Share ideas on how female leaders can better support one another through networks;

  • Hear from female entrepreneurs and politicians on how we can close the funding gap;

  • Network over tea, coffee, wine and finger food with female founders.

Opening speakers:

Gillian Keegan was elected Conservative MP for Chichester in June 2017. She has since held the roles of Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) at HM Treasury and PPS to the Home Secretary. Gillian is passionate about entrepreneurship and digital technology, and is an officer of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Entrepreneurship.

Dr Caroline Johnson MP is a Conservative Party politician and consultant paediatrician. She has been the Member of Parliament for Sleaford and North Hykeham. Caroline is a Member of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee.

Juliet Rogan is the Head of High Growth & Entrepreneurs at Barclays. She leads a team of relationship directors dedicated to supporting high growth companies and their founders across the UK.

Lou Cordwell OBE is CEO of Manchester based digital design studio magneticNorth, which she founded in 2000. Alongside the day job, Lou is also a board member on Greater Manchester’s Local Enterprise Partnership, Chair of Design Manchester and AllBright's Director for the North. Lou was awarded an OBE in the 2018 New Years Honours for services to the creative and digital economy.

Lisa Tse MBE is CEO of Sweet Mandarin Sauce, an award winning restaurant in Manchester which she set up with her sister, Helen. Their range of gluten free sauces are sold online and in stores. Lisa has also written three cookbooks, the latest of which won a Gourmand Award.
